Experts split over authenticity of ‘Titanic watch.’

Wiltshire -
A watch that reportedly survived the legendary sinking has sold at auction for 2.3 million U.S. dollars. The largest sum ever paid for a relic associated with the fateful ship. “I have to admit, given it’s condition I was skeptical at first, it is in pristine condition and made from materials that had not yet been invented, or even imagined in 1912.” Said one historian, who made it clear when not asked that he was in no way associated with the auction house involved in the sale. Another expert had a different take. “While I believe it is somewhat period correct, this shade of blue was not prominent in men's watches until the late 20’s, I therefore speculate this watch is not from the Titanic tragedy.” Another had an even more honest take. “Are you f---ing kidding me? It’s a digital watch, what the f---k!?”
