In what must be a gut punch to the leader of the opposition, his own family have abandoned the Trumpian rhetoric and divisive leadership style of Pierre Poilievre. “At first I thought I’d just put him up for a leadership review but then thought, nah, best to make a clean break.” Said Anaida Poilievre, “Besides, I can tell a sinking rat ship when I’m on one! The kids are excited to make new friends and be allowed to read books again! We had quite a long list of ‘no-reads’ going on at Stornaway.” Poilievre himself seemed unphased by the announcement and chided his family for taking part in what he called “Sleazy back room bargains.” While this most recent defection doesn’t give Carney's Liberals a majority, the optics are not great for the Tories.
