Canadianer contributor, Everett Bundage, unexpectedly obtained this interview while responding to a Kijiji ad for gently used office furniture.
Outgoing CBC/Radio-Canada CEO Catherine Tait said this week that dismantling the nearly 90-year-old public broadcaster would be "absolutely tragic.” She warned politicians like Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre should think twice before destroying something so closely linked to Canada's "cultural fabric" as she continued stuffing wads of cash into her Fendi handbag. “Do you want the stuff or not” she said waving her hand wildly around her office.
When asked if there was wiggle room on the price of her office chair Tait held fast.
“Of course it’s damaged” she snapped. “I get David Cochrane to speed wheel me through the empty halls with a glass of Chablis so I can feel the stale recycled air of the CBC building rushing through my hair! I scream ‘FASTER YOU WHITE DOG!’ And yeah it gets a bit dinged up. But it’s the chair from which I decreed that Family Feud was Canadian programming so you’re touching history” Tait then pulled out a second Fendi bag that was also stuffed with cash and started heading for the exit.
Asked how she planned to make her escape with bag loads of cash money she laughed, “It’s the CBC. Nobody’s watching darling!”
